Hello there and welcome,
I decided to begin a blog for myself to document my journey as I learn about software development. If you have any ideas about subjects or have questions don’t hesitate to leave me a comment.
I will try to have an article here at least once a week.
So here is the plan:
I am already thinking about learning more about algorithms and data-structures as I did not have the opportunity to learn about these subjects in school.
For this purpose I plan on going over this three curses from MIT :
- MIT 6.006 Introduction to Algorithms, Fall 2011
- MIT 6.046J Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Spring 2015
- MIT 6.854 (Advanced Algorithms), Spring 2016
I have found a cool book called Learn C# by Building a Simple RPG by Scott Lilly (which is free by the way and he also has some good youtube tutorials on C# ) . I plan on going through it because I was already thinking about building a game and the book seems fun.
I want to learn more about ASP.NET and there was a sale on Udemy so I bought The Complete ASP.NET MVC 5 Course by Mosh Hamedani because I’ve already seen some of his work and I know he does quality stuff (also it was like 10 euro).
Was also thinking about doing some Xamarin tutorials but I don’t know, maybe I should concentrate more on C# and ASP.NET. Xamarin is rising in popularity lately and it’s becoming mainstream for cross-platform development but I don’t know, I should concentrate more on one subject.
I was thinking of creating a “Where Do I Start?” section for my site, to put there some recommendations, books, advice, tools, frameworks for people starting with C# and create a github repo about Data structures/Algorithms and Design Patterns because by doing them I can also learn more about these subjects.
Lastly, I am thinking (for a long time now) about getting some certifications like ISTQB, ITIL, and some Microsoft ones .
That’s about it.
So let’s recap:
- Data structures/Algorithms
- Build an RPG
- ASP.NET MVC 5 Course
- Xamarin ?
- “Where Do I Start?” page
- Certifications (ISTQB, ITIL, Microsoft)
This should keep me busy for some time.
